Welcome to The Sample Cellar
Our food is produced to the highest quality, using only the finest of ingredients. Please take time to peruse the menus and feel free to ask a member of the waiting on staff if you would like any item in the dishes to be omitted, or added, to your personal taste as in most instances, where possible, we will gladly oblige. All meals are freshly cooked to your order therefore please be patient and have a drink while you are waiting, we are sure it will be worth the wait. ALLERGIES; please note that this establishment uses nuts, seeds and other allergens in some recipes and therefore, unavoidably, there is a small risk that traces may be present in any other dishes on the menu served here, Please ask a member of staff for further information. ~~~~~ Light menu and starters Sample Cellar creamy garlic mushrooms £6.25 Mushrooms and onions sautéed in garlic butter finished with double cream, freshly ground black pepper and herbs topped with melted Stilton cheese. Penne Arrabiata £6.25 Penne pasta tossed in a rich arrabiata sauce with bacon strips, topped with cheese and parmesan and grilled to finish. Homemade soup of the day £4.50 Chef’s homemade soup served with crusty bread and fresh dairy butter. Black pudding, Mushroom and Bacon medley £5.95 A ring of black pudding grilled with rashers of smoked bacon, served with a Portobello mushroom and baked egg on a crisp fried bread crouton.
Chicken Caeser Salad £5.95 Strips of succulent chicken breast served with croutons on a bed of fresh tossed salad accompanied with a homemade Caesar dressing.

Freshly filled Sandwiches £5.25 We offer a selection of large freshly filled sandwiches on Tiger bread with crisp salad Choose from: Cheddar cheese and pickle/tomato/onion, Tuna mayonnaise or roast meats of the day. Steak and Stilton Sandwich £6.25 A slice of prime steak, seasoned, pan-fried and topped with mature blue Stilton cheese. Served in fresh Tiger bread with homemade chips and salad garnish. Sample Cellar Ploughman’s platter £7.95 Served Ploughman’s style with Cheddar or Stilton accompanied by fresh bread. Sausage and Mash £7.95 Ask for the days select sausage with fresh buttered mashed potato and rich roast gravy served with crusty bread and butter. Deep fried breaded Scampi £8.95 Succulent Scampi tails coated in a crisp golden crumb, deep fried and served with chips, salad, tartare sauce and lemon garnish Rump steak (10oz approx ucw) £12.75 A locally farmed rump steak cooked to your order and served with tomato and mushroom garnish, homemade chips and vegetables. Steak and Beaver ale pie £9.25 Chunks of lean, tender beef, cooked with onions in the Chef’s renowned Beaver ale enriched gravy topped with shortcrust pastry, served with vegetables and homemade chips. Vegetarian Dishes £9.95 We offer a selection of freshly prepared vegetarian dishes. Please ask one of our waiting on staff for the day’s selection. South African Babotie £10.25 Minced lamb cooked with tomatoes, apricots and almond flakes, gently flavoured with madras spices and topped with a rich béchamel and almond sauce topping. Served with crisp salad and homemade chips. Fish, chips and mushy peas £9.25 A fresh fillet of Haddock cooked in the Chef’s special crisp Belvoir ale enriched batter and served with mushy peas, homemade chips and bread and butter. Chicken Balti £9.25 A curry cooked to the Chef’s own carefully blended recipe, served in a Kahari dish with rice and naan bread to accompany. Poached Fresh Salmon Fillet £12.95 A poached slice of fresh salmon fillet served enveloped in a creamy white wine and watercress sauce. Loin of Pork Stroganoff £12.95 Prime slices of succulent pork loin sautéed, and served in a rich creamy stroganoff sauce containing mushrooms, white wine, French mustard and double cream. Served with vegetables and steamed rice.
